HearLume exists because one night of live music cost our founder his silence — permanently.
My name is Corey.
I went to a live music show like I had dozens of times before. I left with that familiar post-concert ringing — and assumed it would be gone by morning.
That show caused enough damage to give me permanent tinnitus. A ringing I carry with me everywhere — at work, at dinner, in the quiet moments that aren't quiet anymore.
I still wanted to go to concerts.
I still wanted to live my life. So I searched for something that could protect my hearing without ruining the experience.
What I found was disappointing. Foam plugs that made everything sound underwater. "High-fidelity" options that didn't fit, didn't sound good, or both.
So I built what I couldn't find.
